NDA 1 2027 application form date: when the form comes out, last date and how to apply
The short answer: UPSC's Annual Calendar 2027 puts the NDA & NA (I) 2027 notification, and with it the application form, on Wednesday 2 December 2026. The last date to apply is Tuesday 22 December 2026, and the written exam is on Sunday 11 April 2027. The form is filled only online, at upsconline.nic.in. These dates were checked in UPSC's calendar on 26 October 2026. UPSC says calendar dates can change, so treat the notice published on 2 December as final.

Who can fill the NDA form?
These were the rules in the NDA & NA (II) 2026 notice; check the (I) 2027 notice for the exact birth dates:
- Who: unmarried men and women who are citizens of India (or the other categories the notice lists). Candidates must not marry until training ends.
- Age: about 16½ to 19½. For NDA (II) 2026, candidates had to be born between 1 January 2008 and 1 January 2011. The (I) 2027 range will be in its notice.
- Army wing: Class 12 pass in any stream.
- Navy and Air Force wings, and the Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry): Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Students now in Class 12 can apply, and must prove they passed by the date in the notice.
Documents to keep ready
- Class 10 certificate: UPSC takes the date of birth only from it, and does not change it later.
- Class 12 marksheet, or school details if you are still in Class 12
- Photo ID (UPSC advises Aadhaar)
- A recent scanned photograph and signature
- A way to pay online, unless you are in a fee-exempt category
How to fill the NDA form, step by step
- Go to upsconline.nic.in and create an account.
- Get your Universal Registration Number (URN). It is made once and used for every UPSC exam. Enter your date of birth exactly as on your Class 10 certificate.
- Fill in the Common Application Form, with an uploaded photograph and a live photograph.
- Between 2 and 22 December 2026, open the NDA (I) 2027 form, give your wing preferences (Army, Navy, Air Force, Naval Academy) and choose a centre.
- Pay the fee unless exempt, and submit. Once submitted, the form cannot be changed, so check every field first.
- Download the PDF of the submitted form and keep it.
The portal is busiest in the last days, and centres are allotted as candidates apply, so apply in the first week of December.
After the form: preparing for 11 April 2027
Once you have applied, about 16 weeks remain to the exam, and for many candidates the Class 12 board exams fall inside them.

A wrong answer loses one-third of the question's marks: 0.83 in Mathematics and 1.33 in the GAT.
- December: apply, then take a full NDA mock test to see where you stand.
- January and February: Class 12 Mathematics overlaps your board preparation; add the Class 11 chapters (trigonometry, sequences, permutations and combinations, coordinate geometry). In GK, physics is the largest part.
- March (board exams): keep 30 minutes a day for English and current affairs.
- Late March to April: two full mocks a week at the real timings, and a note of why each wrong answer was wrong, as in how to analyse a mock test.
